Palestine
For over 56 years, Palestinians have endured the impact of Israel's military occupation, facing restricted movement, discriminatory control, and threats to their livelihoods. In Gaza, a 14-year blockade, collective punishment, and military assaults have created an 'open-air prison.' Recent events, including evacuations and a broadened ground offensive, have left 2.3 million Gazans, 80% displaced, with no safe refuge.Bombings, siege, and denial of basic needs, including water and food, persist. The population, half of whom are children, suffer casualties, orphanhood, and starvation. Mosques, hospitals, schools, and civilians are targeted, constituting a violation of human rights. This is not a war; it is the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people.
Democratic Republic of Congo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is in the midst of a prolonged crisis, with over 15 million children grappling with starvation, armed conflict, persistent hostilities, and disease outbreaks. The recent surge in violence has rapidly worsened the humanitarian situation, leading to increased food insecurity and widespread displacement. Despite its abundant natural resources, the DRC remains one of the world's five poorest nations. Territorial disputes over resources, political instability, violence, and extrajudicial killings contribute to high civilian casualties and displacement. In Congo, people suffer enslavement, assault, and death due to the exploitation of natural resources, particularly cobalt—a vital metal with diverse industrial applications. Western countries benefit from and enable the mistreatment of Congolese people involved in mining these materials. Funding militia groups in Rwanda and Uganda, these nations reinforce a cruel regime, leading to what is effectively a silent genocide
Sudan
The conflict in Sudan erupted in mid-April 2023, stemming from a power struggle between two rival military factions—the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, a paramilitary group born from a militia. This rivalry has pushed Sudan to the brink of a full-scale civil war.Preceding the conflict, Sudan faced political unrest, soaring inflation, and extreme weather shocks. The living conditions for the tens of millions of Sudanese people remaining in the country have further deteriorated. A looming humanitarian crisis is marked by forced displacements, home raids, brutal assaults, and the killing of innocent civilians. Healthcare facilities are being destroyed, and the lack of basic necessities such as clean water, food, electricity, and shelter exacerbates the crisis. Fear of reprisal prevents many from documenting the atrocities, effectively silencing their voices.
Syria
The Syrian conflict, resulting in over 500,000 deaths and displacing 13 million, has left 6.2 million Syrians internally displaced and 5.6 million as refugees. Originating from a peaceful uprising for democratic reforms 12 years ago, it evolved into a full-scale civil war, devastating cities and leaving half a million dead.Renewed conflict continues to displace families, requiring emergency shelter supplies, while existing shelters need repair. Harsh weather conditions force families to share shelters for survival. Access to basics like fuel, food, and medicines is hindered by currency depreciation, sanctions, and war-damaged infrastructure. Climate change worsens the situation.Healthcare has deteriorated, with hospitals targeted, and health workers facing risks. Water scarcity forces families to rely on costly truck-delivered water. Rising prices and conflict exacerbate challenges, leaving families unable to afford essential medications
